Our Good Friends: The MacArthurs

Archie and Bettie MacArthur kept watch over the mini-storage for  ten years. Now they run Somebody Cares Thrift Shop in central Flagstaff.

Originally missionaries overseas, they felt a burden to reach the Indian reservations with God’s love.  They regularly deliver food, clothing and other items to those in need on the reservation.  It is because of the love Jesus has shown to them that they pour it out on those who are hurting, on the children who have lost parents through various circumstances.

“We know we can’t help them all, but we can do something.  We can do our part to help the ones God brings into our lives. We want them to know that “somebody does care” and most of all, that Jesus cares about them!”

And that is where they got the name for their organization: Somebody Cares.  A non-profit entity, they are hoping to grow and share God’s love in the lives of many more children, to create and nurture a children’s home for those unfortunate.

The MacArthurs are also raising four children they have adopted from broken homes. They love to take adventurous road trips!
